More than any other election, this is a choice about two different visions for the country, for two different directions of where America should go. And the direction that we choose, the direction that you choose when you walk into that voting booth in November, is going to make a difference not just in your life, but in the lives of your children and in the lives of your grandchildren. It will make a difference for decades to come.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.c-span.org\/Campaign2012\/Events\/President-Obama-Campaigns-in-Chicago\/10737433002\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8211; President Barack Obama, August 12 2012, Chicago\u2019s Bridgeport Art Center<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.daylife.com\/image\/0epTbA7caT8rK?utm_source=zemanta&amp;utm_medium=p&amp;utm_content=0epTbA7caT8rK&amp;utm_campaign=z1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs-images.forbes.com\/deanzarras\/files\/2012\/08\/300x21517.jpg\" alt=\"NORFOLK, VA - AUGUST 11:  Newly announced Repu...\" width=\"240\" height=\"172\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>With Mitt Romney\u2019s naming of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate, team Obama is apparently tickled pink that they can contrast their vision for America against that of a radical ideologue and the ugly capitalist that supported his budgetary plan.\u00a0 Not missing a beat, Obama\u2019s promoters are already running ads on Google saying \u201cFight back against Paul Ryan\u2019s radical agenda\u201d and variations thereof.<\/p>\n<p>I say bring it on.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Ryan will force a detailed, fact-based national conversation and referendum on what has to be the most spectacular failure of an \u201ceconomic plan\u201d ever witnessed by a developed nation.\u00a0 And I should add, the most tragic, as the productive lives of millions of unemployed and under-employed people hang in the balance, not to mention the trillions of dollars of national wealth that stands to be made or wasted.<\/p>\n<p>For three plus years, Obama and his lackeys have made the case that the path to national greatness starts with and runs back through government.\u00a0 By any mean necessary, they have sought to do what they indeed promised, namely, to \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KrefKCaV8m4\" target=\"_blank\">fundamentally transform America.<\/a>\u201d \u00a0 If Ryan is an \u201cideologue\u201d, one would have to use that term with Obama as well.<\/p>\n<p>Conceptually, I have no problem with the term \u201cideologue.\u201d \u00a0In the political sphere, the word is typically used when talking about a person who operates from principles with which one vehemently disagrees with. \u00a0But what anyone should have a problem with,\u00a0<em>what is truly radical,<\/em>\u00a0is the promotion of an ideology whose historical record has never produced the goals one is supposedly trying to achieve.<\/p>\n<p>Continue reading at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/deanzarras\/2012\/08\/13\/bring-on-the-radical-ideologues\/\" target=\"_blank\">Forbes Opinions&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a title=\"FREE Subscription\" href=\"http:\/\/civilsocietytrust.org\/blog\/free-subscription\/\" target=\"_blank\">Free Subscription<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/CivilSocTrust\" target=\"_blank\">Follow at Twitter<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Obama and I agree completely on exactly one thing, and it concerns the upcoming November election: It\u2019s not just a choice between two candidates or two political parties.
